Albert Chen

Included in the 2019 edition of CBC Music’s “30 Under 30” list of Canadian classical musicians, pianist Albert Chen has appeared as a soloist with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and performed in concert venues around the world including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. He toured across Manitoba and Saskatchewan as the winner of the biennial CFMTA Western Young Artist Series Competition and received top prizes in the Lawrence Genser and U of M Concerto Competition as well as the Aikins Memorial and Lieutenant Governor’s Trophy. Awarded the University Gold Medal as a 2020 graduate, Albert holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the Desautels Faculty of Music.
