After almost 15 years and an additional 12 YouTube channels, I learned a lot about how to improve the recordings. I still plug the turntable into the computer, but now I can use different cartridges and stylii for different records, and since 2013, I've used a suite of audio enhancement programs by Brian Davies to bring out the most from each recording. I'm still learning and hopefully improving the audio. Hope this answers all the techie questions.
