It all began with the infamous "rudbrps" found footage video of 2007. The story was that a deceased NASA engineer had hidden a reel of film in his safe, which was recovered by a family member after his death. The film appeared to show a "studio outtake" of an Apollo mission featuring three people on the lunar surface at one time (one without a space suit). The authenticity of the clip could never be validated, but some NASA critics swear to this day that it is real.
