Sonification of earthquake seismograms...listen to the Earth quake.
Sonifications, plotting, uploading are done automagically in near-real time (~1 hour delay). Occasionally it actually works. All stations are part of the Global Seismographic Network, and data are obtained from the IRIS DMC (http://www.iris.edu).
Some seismograms sound better than others. Speakers with a decent low frequency response help.
Large earthquakes (M~7) are sometimes hard to hear because they don't generate high frequency energy, and hence, don't sonify well at our default parameters. Small earthquakes (M~5.5) can also be hard to hear because they are too far away from the seismic station to be audible above the microseismic noise.
