El Dorado Chapter CNPS

The California Native Plant Society is a state-wide organization dedicated to protecting the native vegetation that is too often seen as “in the way” when it comes time to develop land, and to educating people about the value of native plants to us, to our environment, and to the birds and other living creatures in our area. El Dorado County has a high plant diversity due to its varied topography; it contains seven plant communities ranging from grassland to forest. In addition to helping protect native plants, our chapter helps combat the spread of invasive plant species. This YouTube channel was created to share videos of "virtual field trips" and recordings of our speakers' presentations.
