Nashville Steam

The Nashville Steam Preservation Society is restoring Music City's legendary steam locomotive No. 576 back to operation. Built during World War II by the American Locomotive Company, No. 576 served on the Nashville, Chattanooga, & St. Louis Railway until it was retired in 1952. It was then donated to the people of Nashville and sat on display in Centennial Park until it was relocated in 2019 for a complete mechanical overhaul. Follow along to see how these incredible machines are restored and how they influenced the history and culture of our country.
