My mother was embarrassed. My father said "get a real job." I couldn't stay focused at work. I was a failed drug addict (now happily sober), but I never quit when it came to music. In a suffering society, that often meant I was sharing my pain with the millions who were also trying to find a meaning in their struggles. I craft my lyrics to grip onto listeners who are constantly thinking, “Am I born to lose, or is this just another test?" Few of us can relate to million-dollar bank accounts and other celebrity flexes, but we all have a moment when simply getting through the day is our biggest challenge.
