The Iveys

The Iveys were established in 1964 featuring Pete Ham on lead guitar, Dave Jenkins on rhythm guitar and Terry Gleason on drums from a group called The Wild Ones, and Ron Griffiths on bass from a group called The Jaguars. Mike Gibbins replaced Gleason in March 1965. In August 1967, Jenkins was replaced by Tom Evans. Mal Evans turned The Beatles onto The Iveys' demos in 1968 and got them signed to their Apple Records label. They had a minor hit in early 1969 with the song “Maybe Tomorrow.” Their only album, produced by Tony Visconti and Mal Evans was released in the summer but only in Italy, Germany and Japan. Some countries issued a 2nd single, “Dear Angie.” In November 1969, The Iveys changed their name to Badfinger and released their recording of a Paul McCartney song, “Come And Get It” which was a worldwide hit early in 1970.
