My name is Francesca and found out about Aspergers’ Syndrome in 2006 when I moved to the US through Youtube. When hearing another fellow Aspie describe characteristics of his personality I was automatically mind blown but also convinced that this was definitely me 100%. However, for many reasons and factors, I never really expand more my research or could truly come into terms with it because when I would try to explain it to the people around me, no one would really understand what it really was. I still felt Aliened to the world around me and always felt that I could never fit in or be my self without being judged, criticized, labeled, or bullied by everyone. Just the term “syndrome” would make people think of it as me having some mental problem and it would only make them look at me more negatively.
